ICE Boston Apprehends Accused Sex Offender

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers successfully arrested a 23-year-old Guatemalan illegal immigrant accused of rape and multiple sex crimes in Massachusetts on July 21. According to federal officials, Enforcement and Removal Operations officers in Boston apprehended Rocael Ordonez-Cruz directly at the Middlesex County House of Correction in Billerica, Massachusetts, following his release from state custody.

Based on reports from the federal agency, Ordonez-Cruz entered the United States unlawfully at an undisclosed location and time without receiving inspection, admission, or parole from any U.S. immigration official. Local authorities in Arlington, Massachusetts, initially arrested the suspect on June 25 after investigating serious allegations involving sexual violence within the local community.

Citing reports from ICE officials, local law enforcement formally charged Ordonez-Cruz with multiple severe offenses, including rape and assault with intent to rape. Furthermore, the suspect faces additional criminal counts involving indecent assault and battery on a person aged 14 or older, alongside charges of indecent exposure.

According to acting Enforcement and Removal Operations Boston Field Office Director David Wesling, the suspect poses a significant danger to local residents. "Rocael Ordonez-Cruz has not only displayed a blatant disregard for our laws by illegally entering this United States and later allegedly sexually assaulting our residents, he has also proven to be a threat to our neighborhoods," Wesling stated.

Federal Officials Emphasize Community Safety

The recent operation highlights ongoing federal efforts to target criminal noncitizens released from local correctional facilities across New England. Wesling emphasized the commitment of federal law enforcement personnel during a public statement regarding the successful apprehension in Billerica.

Citing reports from the agency, Wesling noted that "The arrest of this alleged sex offender from the streets of Massachusetts shows our officers" dedication to the safety and security of our New England communities.' Federal leadership remains steadfast in locating and detaining dangerous individuals who threaten public safety.

Following his physical release from state custody, ICE officers immediately served Ordonez-Cruz with a formal notice to appear before a Justice Department immigration judge. This legal document serves to initiate formal removal proceedings before an immigration judge to determine his legal status and deportation timeline.

According to federal statements, Ordonez-Cruz will remain securely detained in ICE custody pending the final outcome of these ongoing immigration removal proceedings. Fox News Digital reached out to ICE for additional clarification regarding the specific circumstances surrounding the arrest but did not receive an immediate response.
